Coronavirus Update (3/20/2020)
Yes, our building is closed in an effort to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. But let’s be clear, the Church is Not Closed. Our ministry team continues to work to provide care to our members, providing meaningful weekly worship, and preparing for the day when the building re-opens with a memorable celebration in worship that proclaims a resurrected Savior and a living Christian community.
Being Creative in Worship
We never imagined that we would be in a position to have to hold worship via Facebook Live. But the day is here and we hope that through our worship we can continue to grow in our Christian faith in this season of Lent. We will be leading worship through Facebook Live, Sundays at 10am. You can watch either by Clicking on this LINK (no Facebook account required), or go to the top of this page and click on the blue Facebook button next to the “Contact Us” tab. The video will be on the page. If you have trouble connecting please contact the church office at email@example.com and let us know.
Sharing Prayer Requests
During our Sunday worship we will be doing live prayer request and text in prayer requests. Either during the service or prior to the service you can text your prayer requests to 413-219-6412. You can also email prayer requests to be shared by Friday noon to FUMC01085@gmail.com.
Creating Community Check-In Network
We would like to maintain a connection with our church community through weekly phone check-ins. We are creating call lists for a volunteer team that will make weekly calls. The calls are meant to be brief and offer the opportunity for you to share possible needs, prayer concern or celebrations, and any other helpful information that might help make this time of social distancing easier. We are looking for volunteers to join our team. If you are interested please contact Rev Bruce at . Calling will begin next week.
We Appreciate and Need Your Continued Support
While we are not using the building our Church remains open for ministry and mission. Financial commitments need our continued commitment to sustain our giving. You can mail in your gifts to the church office at 16 Court St, Westfield, MA 01085 or you can go to our website (www.UMCWestfield.org) and make a donation with the green GIVE button. Together we continue to make Church happen. Thank you for your faithful giving.
